WELLS

Hydrology Modeling • 2010 • Active

WELLS simulates pumping and injection well effects using analytical solutions and superposition to support aquifer test interpretation and groundwater decision support.

WELLS simulates drawdowns caused by multiple pumping or injecting wells using analytical solutions in both C and Julia implementations.

It can represent confined, unconfined, and leaky aquifers and uses superposition to account for transient pumping schedules and multiple well sources.

WELLS can also account for non-pumping water-level trends and early-time behavior using exponential functions for transmissivity and storativity effects.

Model inversion of WELLS predictions can be performed with MADS for calibration and uncertainty analysis.
